Nelly Gordpour

Nelly Gordpour is a third year law student at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law (’21) with a concentration in International and Comparative Law. She is a Staff Editor on the Cardozo Journal of Conflict Resolution and previously worked with the Benjamin B. Ferencz Human Rights and Atrocity Prevention Clinic, where she received the Clinical Legal Education Association’s Outstanding Clinical Team Award for her work in the Amazon region of Brazil. Nelly was part of the second cohort of the John Lewis Fellowship with Humanity in Action in 2016.

Nelly’s research and career interests lie at the nexus of international diplomacy and international human rights law. Prior to law school, Nelly worked as a researcher within the UN human rights system, and formerly worked with Human Rights Watch and the Open Society Foundations. She is also passionate about photography and previously worked with the Magnum Foundation and the International Center of Photography. She currently serves as an Advisor at Permanent Mission of Liechtenstein to the United Nations for the 2020 summer term.
