Rob Garris serves as Managing Director for Leadership Development with the Grants at Mission Investing team at Trinity Church Wall Street. He is responsible for the development of the Trinity Leadership Initiative (TLI), a global collaborative network of partners that will offer leadership development programs combining the inspiration of faith with the practical skills leaders need to be effective in the world. The TLI will bring together mission-driven lay and clergy leaders, train them to gather and empower communities for a changing world, and network them into a global cohort for leadership learning. Rob also serves as Trinity’s key liaison with the Church Divinity School of the Pacific, a seminary that is part of the Trinity family and an important contributor to Trinity’s leadership development work. Rob has built innovative international education programs at universities and foundations for more than twenty years, working for Schwarzman Scholars (a new leadership development program in China), the Rockefeller Foundation, Columbia University, and John’s Hopkins School of International Affairs. Rob received his Ph.D. in History from the University of North Carolina, where he specialized in immigration and urban policy.
