Rocío Digón is a legal consultant at White & Case. Based in Rome, Rocío has experience as counsel, arbitrator, and tribunal secretary in ad hoc and institutional arbitrations in disputes arising out of matters in sectors including: energy (hydroelectric and oil and gas); telecommunications; construction; and public international law/investment treaty.
Previously, Rocío was an Associate Research Scholar at Yale Law School and spent three years as the first Managing Director and Counsel of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, SICANA, Inc., where she was responsible for administering cases for the North America region and directing SICANA’s promotional activities.
She writes and speaks frequently on topics in public international law. Additionally, Rocío co-founded the Rising Arbitrators Initiative and is a member of the ICCA Task Force on Gender Diversity and Discrimination.
Rocío is a graduate of Amherst College, summa cum laude, with a degree in English, French, and political science. During her time at Amherst, she participated in the Humanity in Action program. She is a former Netherlands Fulbright Scholar where she obtained an LL.M. in Public International Law, writing her masters thesis on Rule 11bis of the ICTY’s Rule of Procedures and Evidence. She received her JD from Yale Law School.
