Sara Coutinho is a Bosnian-Portuguese human rights advocate, researcher, and migration specialist with a background in disability rights and refugee protection. She holds an MA in Human Rights Studies from Columbia University and a BA in International Relations from Leiden University. Her work spans Latin America, the Western Balkans, and Western Europe, with a focus on the intersection of migration, disability, and gender-based violence. She has interned with Human Rights Watch and the International Rescue Committee, conducted research on guardianship systems and asylum dynamics, and consulted for international organizations, including the Ministry of Justice and Security in the Netherlands. Passionate about inclusive policy and advocacy, she is committed to uplifting the rights of marginalized communities — particularly migrants and people with disabilities. Fluent in Bosnian, Portuguese, and English, she brings a multicultural lens to all her work and continues to push for equity in both local and international human rights spaces.
