Sophia Seawell is a Belgian/African-American writer and journalist based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. She has a Bachelor’s and Research Master’s in Gender Studies, and wrote her RMA thesis on ethics and whiteness.
She was co-editor-in-chief of student publication bluestockings magazine, and her current journalism and writing work continues to examine pop culture and the cultural sector more broadly from an intersectional feminist perspective.
She currently works in the communications team at Mama Cash, the first international feminist fund, where she creates content and manages the social media channels. Additionally, Sophia has extensive experience as a workshop facilitator and more recently developed a workshop on safety and inclusivity for nightlife venues with Stichting SexMatters.
