Sümeyye Ekmekci participated in the 2015 Amsterdam Fellowship of Humanity in Action.
Co-inspired by the Fellowship and other Fellows, she is committed to human rights and justice.
She currently serves as Program Officer at the Democracy and Media Foundation, an independent foundation that invests in critical, independent media and a strong, democratic rule of law.
Sümeyye previously coordinated the BKB Academie at Campagnebureau BKB. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology and a research master’s degree in Middle Eastern Studies from Leiden University.
