Article

Valeriia Prylypko is a Ukrainian cultural researcher and scholar currently residing in Denmark. During her Bachelor’s in Cultural Studies, she explored the cultural experiences between Ukrainians and Ukraine’s biggest indigenous peoples, Crimean Tatars. Focusing on indigenous and trauma studies, she has worked on strategies of reintegration and collective reimagining of Crimea. Valeriia is currently training to become an Applied Cultural Analyst (MACA) at the University of Copenhagen. In her MA thesis, she is interested in investigating how urban migration influences people’s self-identity, particularly in connection with their motherlands. She is a team memeber of Ukraine House in Denmark, supporting the organisation’s communications efforts and amplifying Ukrainian voices across Scandinavia. Whenever she has a bit of free time, she enjoys swimming, having friends over, baking and flâneuring around Copenhagen.
