Marwa Mommandi is an Afghan-American advocate and scholar dedicated to advancing health equity and policy reform. Her experiences navigating healthcare barriers as a refugee and low-income student drive her commitment to systemic change. Marwa earned her Bachelor’s in Neuroscience with minors in Leadership and Business from the University of Colorado Boulder and will pursue her Master of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University in the fall. She helped launch theCHANGEproject, a Colorado-based nonprofit empowering young leaders to address healthcare disparities through advocacy and community engagement. Beyond her policy work, Marwa actively shares intercultural poetry on social media, where she fosters conversations around identity, culture, and equity, connecting deeply with over 130,000 followers.
