As a part of our Fellowship programs, our Fellows work on an Action Project: an independent venture focused on promoting democratic values in their own communities. Action Projects are as diverse as Humanity in Action Fellows. Fellows apply their new knowledge and perspectives to the communities they impact—in whatever format they find meaningful. The Humanity in Action community is a great resource for getting support—be it with contacts, experience or good advice.

Bijlmer Valley - Get Digital
Landecker Democracy Fellow Zawdie Sandvliet is a Social Studies teacher and the initiator of the Afro-Dutch Studies at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. His project will create awareness around the historically determined disparities within the Dutch elementary and high school education system when it comes to opportunities and educational results.

Landecker Democracy Fellow Flavia Matei is an architect working at the University of Art and Design in Linz, Austria. In her free time, Flavia is a committed activist for migrant workers’ rights.

Empowering Women and Girls in NYC
Landecker Democracy Fellow Reshma Persaud is a Manager of Principal Giving at the International Rescue Committee. In support of activism through art, Reshma and SQWM will host an exhibition highlighting immigrant communities, families, or/and anonymous GBV survivors for them to "Tell their Stories Through Art" either virtually or in-person.
