Magda Szarota, a human rights advocate and the Ombudsperson of Humanity in Action Poland, recently spoke at a rally in solidarity with Ukrainian people. The event was organized by Lancaster University Students’ Union.
“Ukrainians need all the support you can give – moral, symbolic, political, financial,” Magda quoted a renowned sociologist Dr Lidia Kuzemska. She further called for quick action, and gave many specific ideas one could take on, such as demanding the lifting of the ban on visas to Ukrainian families, stopping disinformation from “Russia Today,” and providing more humanitarian help.
The speech in full is available on Magda’s Facebook page.
For those who wish to make a contribution to those in great need in Ukraine, the Humanity in Action Polish office has provided a list of Ukrainian charities.
