Landecker Fellow Jelle Zijlstra wrote and directed “Verder van huis,” a theater performance which was recently showed at De Balie, a contemporary arts, politics and culture venue in Amsterdam.
The performance was made together with the Live Journalism team who did research into the shape that custodial placements and youth services are in in the Netherlands. The research included conversations with parents, young people as well as care providers and experts from the field. Finally, it has led to this final performance which is based on the experiences of the young people in the study.

Jelle is one of thirty 2021-2022 Landecker Democracy Fellows.
