Yesterday our Director and President, Monika Mazur-Rafał, was one of the speakers at the “Microhistories Of The Holocaust And Its European Character” conference. She discussed how to connect history education with human rights activism in ways that are relevant and meaningful for young people. She focused on the “Break the Vicious Circle” project, which we are currently implementing in cooperation with HIA Germany with the support of the EVZ Foundation “Remembrance, Responsibility and Future” and the German Federal Foreign Office.

As part of the project we will develop an innovative educational mobile application which will feature biographies of people who stood up to the oppression during World War II, who did not remain indifferent, and who helped others through their courageous actions. These biographies will represent 10 stages of genocide and will be used for historical and human rights learning.

The conference was organized by the Serbian organization Terraforming.org. Humanity in Action Poland is proud to be a part of the consortium, committed to developing educational methodologies and teaching materials about the Holocaust and combating discrimination, antisemitism, antiziganism, and all forms of xenophobia.
