Andromachi Papaioannou hails from Athens, Greece and has lived in Thessaloniki, Rome, London, Bologna and Athens, which made her not only a citizen of the world but also fluent in Greek, English and Italian. She holds a BA in Political Science from Aristotle University, a MA in Social Anthropology from London School of Economics, and a PhD in International Cooperation and Sustainable Development Policies from the University of Bologna, with a focus on Anthropology and Migration and most specifically on the notions of citizenship, identity and belonging among youth of African background in Athens. Andromachi Papaioannou resides in Athens since 2010 working on migration issues and most specifically on second generation issues both as a researcher and a social activist. She is actively involved with the NGO Generation 2.0 for Rights, Equality, and Diversity and has a long experience in migration policies and legislation, consultancy, intercultural mediation and advocacy.
