Ezriella Tang is an interdisciplinary Chinese-American researcher, artist, and aspiring global scholar trained in anthropology, psychology, and cognitive science. She is interested in diaspora and migration, focusing on the success paradox of global China and the perpetual foreignness faced by communities of Asian ancestry in predominantly Anglo-Saxon and Francophone areas. Informed by her experience as a first-generation immigrant and community college transfer student, Tang is committed to engaged research and action-oriented pedagogy that cultivates intercultural understanding. Her research highlights representation and embraces storytelling to demystify and destigmatize biases towards historically marginalized communities. Tang’s archival work in digitizing student activism seeks to re-outline the forgotten history behind collective progress. This summer, she will engage with community healthcare in Costa Rica, interning with Equipos Básicos de Atención Integral de Salud. Tang is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree at Pitzer College. Fun fact: She views photography as the contemporary way of stopping time.
