Jiae Kim

Jiae Kim is an aspiring educator and social scientist from South Korea. She is a student at Duke University majoring in public policy with a minor in education and certificate in child policy research. Her background growing up in South Korea, the US, Russia, and Uzbekistan inspired her to explore educational philosophy, teaching, and educational policy. She has been recognized for research in education, human rights, and identity, including the Holton Prize for Educational Research, Jacqueline A. Morris Fellowship, Human Rights Research Grant, and the Dean’s Summer Research Fellowship. She hopes to advocate for educational policies and teaching practices that support inclusive learning environments, acknowledge students’ diverse backgrounds, and strengthen the role of teachers in fostering meaningful student growth.
