Blending a passion for the arts with a drive for systemic change, Katie creates human-centered approaches to advance equity through meaningful expressions of humanity.
Her recent storytelling includes ‘Bock Auf Kochen,’ a cookbook created with a refugee center in Vienna, and a youth-focused podcast series with Accountable Now. Her academic research centers on inclusion, exploring senior citizens’ use of public parks, (mis)translations, and accessible app development. These themes carry into her community work. As an elected board member of Democrats Abroad Netherlands, she supports collective efforts with her fellow Americans abroad to engage with U.S. democracy. She teaches and mentors, believing real impact begins with personal connection.
Katie holds BAs in Religious Studies and Classical Languages from Macalester College and an MA in Applied Human Rights from the University of Applied Arts Vienna.
In her downtime, you’ll find Katie cooking for friends or rock climbing.
