Mohammed Deria is a British-Danish-Somali community organizer, youth advocate, and founder of Skillz, a grassroots initiative based in Tingbjerg, one of Copenhagen’s most underserved neighborhoods. With deep roots in the local community, Mohammed has spent the past years building platforms where young people can thrive through sport, creative expression, and social engagement. His work focuses on empowering youth to take ownership of their environment and to build bridges across institutions, cultures, and neighborhoods. He is particularly passionate about urban justice, youth-led change, and creating inclusive public spaces shaped by those who use them. Grounded in everyday organizing and local presence, Mohammed also brings a broader interest in diaspora communities, African studies, and community-based knowledge production.
