Mouna Chatt is a final-year bachelor’s student in Sociology and Politics. She is academically interested in the intersection of migration, racialisation, and spatialisation in the Scandinavian context. Growing up in a working-class, multi-ethnic neighbourhood in Copenhagen, Mouna developed a commitment to address class, racial, and gendered disparities in the arenas of life that she navigates.
Mouna has previously worked as the Narrative Change Academy Fellow for the Young Islam Conference and has conducted an independent research project exploring what narratives about Muslims go missing due to anti-Muslim racism in Edinburgh. She is especially interested in the role that research plays in social justice work.
She recently rediscovered her love for literature and writing poetry. Through her work, Mouna attempts to weave together the threads of the women who have made her who she is – past, present, and future.
