Invitation

Once again, Humanity in Action Denmark is delighted to open our doors to the 2025 Cph Fellowship’s Open Events.

Every year, the Copenhagen Fellowship invites the public in to discuss issues related to the Fellowship. The purpose of these events is to engage the public – and engage with the public – about issues close to our hearts. The 2025 Copenhagen Fellowship is no exception.

The 2025 Cph Fellowship will take place from August 11-28 for Danish and international students, and this year, for the third year in a row, we focus especially on the nexus between Climate Change and Human Rights. This year’s sub-theme is “Rights of Future Generations”.

Mark your calendars now!

Join us for one or more of these exciting events. Participation is free of charge but requires registration via this link.

“Srebrenica 30 years after efter – Film screening & Talk in Cinemateket”

2025 marks the 30th anniversary of the Srebrenica massacre. It will also be 30 years since the Dayton Peace Agreement that ended the war in Bosnia was signed in 1995. These events have left a deep mark on Europe’s recent history and stand as important reminders of the consequences of ethnic conflict and the need for peacebuilding.

Humanity in Action Denmark, in collaboration with Cinemateket, invites you to a special evening with a screening of the critically acclaimed feature film ‘Quo Vadis, Aida’. The film tells the story of the Srebrenica massacre through the eyes of a UN interpreter who struggles to save his family amidst the horrors of war. ‘Quo Vadis, Aida’ has won awards at major film festivals and was nominated for an Oscar for Best International Film. Hailed for its powerful narrative and its courage to shine a spotlight on an important but often overlooked chapter in recent European history, it is a film that both informs and touches deeply.

After the film, Anesa Kundurovic (Bosnian Ambassador to Denmark) and Murat Zubcevic (who fled Bosnia during the war) will put the events of the film into perspective and discuss their significance for today. Humanity in Action’s acting chairman, and senior researcher at Inst. for Human Rights, Steven LB Jensen, will moderate the conversation.

Come and join the reflection on the past and gain insight into how we can work for peace and reconciliation in Europe and the world today.

When: Tuesday, August 26, 16.45-19.00.
Where: Cinemateket, Gothersgade 55, 1123 København K.

Humanity in Action offers the ticket to friends and members of the organization, but registration is required via the link above.

“Fellow Talks! Speech to Future Generations”

On the penultimate day of the 2025 Cph Fellowship, this year’s Fellows invite Humanity in Action friends, members, Fellows and Senior Fellows to listen to their speeches for future generations. From the “Speaker’s Chair” in Fælledparken, from where Thorvald Stauning is said to have given several of his May Day speeches and uttered the famous words “Stauning or chaos”, our Fellows will, one by one, deliver the speech they have written and practiced during the Fellowship.

Come and hear our fellows’ visions and hopes for future generations, as well as their message to today’s generations – themselves and us! And join us in celebrating a successful Fellowship afterwards.

When: Wednesday, August 27, 16.00-18.00. With a celebration afterwards!
Where: Speaker’s Chair in Fælledparken.
