Our community takes action to defend democratic values around the world. Explore our Fellows' Action Projects here.
In the 11 months following the on-site or virtual Fellowship program, our Fellows work on their Action Project: an independent venture focused on promoting democratic values in their own communities. Action Projects are as diverse as Humanity in Action Fellows. Fellows apply their new knowledge and perspectives to the communities they impact—in whatever format they find meaningful. The Humanity in Action community is a great resource for getting support—be it with contacts, experience or good advice. Magazine Created by and for People with Intellectual Disabilities
People with disabilities constitute the world's biggest minority. However, this social group is not homogenous. For instance, research shows that people with intellectual disabilities are much more disproportionately discriminated against and marginalized in comparison to people with other types of impairments. Simultaneously, a strong social stigma is attached to people with intellectual disabilities which renders them socially and culturally ‘invaluable’.

Landecker Democracy Fellow DeLesslin George-Warren is a queer artist, researcher, and organizer from Catawba Indian Nation. DeLesslin works with five native technologists to support their work in creating Open Source projects to address the needs of their community.
