This NATO funded project aims to increase the resilience of Bosnia and Herzegovina democracy by strengthening the capacity of local NGOs and think-tanks, employees of state institutions, journalists, and young leaders in exploring, analyzing, and addressing both external and internal factors undermining its democratic cohesion, and strengthening liberal democracy and economic development by enhancing their skills in research and enrich their knowledge by discussions with experts with strong pro-Transatlantic and European values.

 

Project activities

  • October 8 – November 7, 2021 – Five sessions of the Online Skills Training
  • November, 2021 – Forming of the groups, selection of the policy paper topics.
  • November – December, 2021 – Elaboration of the Policy Papers (under the guidance of expert facilitators).
  • December, 2021 – Coordination meeting of the participants, recording of the policy paper video explainers.
  • December, 2021 – Advocacy Event – presenting the policy papers to the expert audience.
  • By the end of 2021 – Publishing of the video explainers.

The five thematic Online Skills Training sessions will be conducted online. Participants will meet in person during the Coordination Meeting prior to the Advocacy Event, where they will further coordinate the presentation of their policy papers with experts who guided the drafting process. During the Advocacy event, participants will present their policy papers to stakeholders from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We proudly kick off the 'Defending Euro-Atlantic Values: Capacity Building and Resilience Enhancement through Strengthening Research and Debating Capacities of Young Professionals in Bosnia and Herzegovina' project supported by the NATO's Public Diplomacy Division! Over the course of 5 trainings, our participants learned more about qualitative analysis, strategic country analysis, investigative research and analyzing democratic change and stability in the context of hybrid threats.

The project aims to increase the capacity of young leaders of Bosnia and Herzegovina who are active in NGOs, think tanks, state institutions or the private sector for the sake of strengthening liberal democracy and economic development by enhancing their skills in research and enrich their knowledge by discussions with experts with strong pro-Transatlantic and European values.

Increasing the resilience of BiH’s democracy by strengthening the capacity of local NGOs and think-tanks, employees of state institutions, journalists, and young leaders in exploring, analyzing, and addressing both external and internal factors undermining its democratic cohesion as necessary preconditions for BIH’s Euro-Atlantic future, which is set as the country’s strategic goal.
