"Our Stories" in the News

Details

Article

As part of her Landecker Democracy Action Project, Sebene has created a web platform with audiovisual material complemented by contributions from migrant communities.

Launched earlier in the fall of 2022, the “Our Stories” platform has already gained traction in the Greek media.

A new Athens-Macedonian News Agency (AMNA) article commends the project, highlighting how it presents a more systematic documentation of the immigrant history in Greece. The original article is in Greek, with an English translation available here.

The Athens Coordination Center for Migrant and Refugee issues (ACCMR) has also highlighted the initiative, explaining it aims to “publicize the long-standing presence of immigrant communities in the country, and in particular in Athens.” The article is available in Greek at this ACCMR page (with English translation available here).

Finally, Our Stories was also featured in Avgi, a Greek national newspaper, both in its printed and online version. To read their coverage, visit this Avgi page.

Facebook and Instagram pages were also created, with content mainly in Greek, but key information in English as well. Make sure to give these a follow!

Sebene is one of thirty 2021-2022 Landecker Democracy Fellows. This fellowship, a collaboration between the Alfred Landecker Foundation and Humanity in Action, was created to strengthen a new generation of leaders whose approaches to political and social challenges can become catalysts for democratic placemaking and community building.
