Our community takes action to defend democratic values around the world. Explore our Action Projects here.
In the 11 months following the on-site Fellowship program, our Fellows work on their Action Project: an independent venture focused on promoting democratic values in their own communities. Action Projects are as diverse as Humanity in Action Fellows. Fellows apply their new knowledge and perspectives to the communities they impact—in whatever format they find meaningful. The Humanity in Action community is a great resource for getting support—be it with contacts, experience or good advice. Raising Awareness on Human Right Issues and Promoting Active Citizenship among the Teenagers in Ukraine
Yuliia Rudenko a student of international law and English interpretation as well as a Fellow of 2020 Humanity in Action Warsaw Fellowship/Academy of Human Rights, devoted her Action Project to enhancing the knowledge of young Ukrainians (between 12-15 of age) on how they can become activists at the local and national levels.

Local Narratives of Diversity in Action - Against Urban Antisemitism and Social Exclusion
Senior Fellows Jan Kirschenbaum, Dominika Burakiewicz, Ioannis Stylianidis, Bethanie Martin, Maciej Kirschenbaum, and project partner Aleksandra Wilczura planned to restore the presence of the Jews in Poland in the collective memory by implementing lectures, workshops, murals of Polish-German-Jewish sports clubs, and a football tournament for children.

HER Docs Film Festival is the first documentary film festival in Poland presenting the oeuvre of womxn filmmakers.

Mental Health Buddies Network (Sieć Przyjaciół Zdrowia Psychicznego)
Mental Health Buddies has become a widely recognized and award-winning grass-roots project. Its core objective is to ensure that every person struggling with a mental health problem – i.e. anyone who has ever felt isolated, misunderstood, or stigmatized – receives the necessary support.

With strong interest in gender equality Milena and Małgorzata knew right away they wanted their project to empower women and girls.

Hospitality Initiative (Inicjatywa Gośc-inność)
Humanity in Action Senior Fellow Nina Lazarcyzk created educational cooking workshops called Hospitality Workshops (GośćInność) dedicated for the youth, run by migrants and refugees in order to bring people together.
