2020 HIA Warsaw Fellows have learnt how to raise awareness and knowledge of English-speaking Wikipedia users by creating new articles on minority groups’ intervention, and informing on ‘the event that people may not otherwise ever learn about’ as one of Fellows Lamisa Mustafa pointed out.
A team of Wiktor Magdziarz, Nathalie Kornet, Lamisa Mustafa and Caroline Garske developed an article about 2004 Dębak Asylum Seekers Hunger Strikes. Words of Nathalie confirm how crucial it is to enrich public knowledge: ‘It was important to have it in English to show that even small actions of resistance that often remain unseen are important to show flaws in a system’.
