Landecker Democracy Fellow and Paris Senior Fellow Lumir Lapray is a professor and community organizer on climate issues. She is also a candidate in the French legislative elections this year.
“Our constituency has been represented by the same political force for more than 60 years, and by the same person for 15 years. Yet, thousands of us want something else: other priorities, other practices, other faces. To get this change, you have to believe it, once again!” Lumir explains on her official campaign website titled Avec Lumir (With Lumir).
Already, Lumir’s campaign has been picked up by multiple French media outlets. Le Monde reported on the “climate generation” to conquer peri-urban France, while for example Mediapart invited Lumir for a debate.
