What are the pedagogical differences between community organizing founder Saul Alinsky‘s approach and the world renowned community organizer and pedagogue Marshall Ganz‘s approach?

Different Leaders Hakim Benbadra and Achraf Manar together with Landecker Fellow Tara Dickman are tackling this and other questions. Together, they were preparing for a training they are delivering to their peers later in October 2021. The training is being co-organized by community organizer Leading Change Network – a pedagogical team that seeks to teach the fundamentals of practice and organization.

Karen Olson from Leading Change Network participates in the training preparations.

The training is set to take place at the end of October 2021. To stay updated on Tara’s activities, you can follow her Twitter account at Tara Dickman.

Tara is one of thirty Landecker Democracy Fellows. This fellowship, a collaboration between the Alfred Landecker Foundation and Humanity in Action, was created to strengthen a new generation of leaders whose approaches to political and social challenges can become catalysts for democratic placemaking and community building.
