This is “Them” curates common ground, debunks stereotypes, answers your awkward questions, and adds nuance to the everyday experiences of different communities in today’s Ireland.
This is “Them,” by Gorm Media, is an innovative approach to culture, creativity, and individual story telling. It is a digital series that highlights the voices of different and diverse communities in Ireland. This is “Them” curates common ground, debunks stereotypes, answers your awkward questions, and adds nuance to the everyday experiences of different communities in today’s Ireland. Why? Because there is always more to “Them.”
Project Objectives
With all the ‘us vs them’ discourse in society, This is “Them” aims to highlight the particular voices of individuals in communities that have been traditionally othered in Irish society (e.g., Ethnically Diverse Communities, Disabled Communities, Gender Diverse Communities, Different Sexualities, etc.). The goal of the project is to show a fresh, fun, and accessible way of having open discourse and presenting it to a wider audience with no knowledge of particular communities, so they can learn, empathize and see great personalities who speak on issues in their communities.
Gorm Media then intends to further engage with the audience by directing them to local, national, and international organizations that work first hand with these communities. This enables them to further their journey of learning and open discourse.
