The project “Against Urban Antisemitism: Restoring the Local Jewish Presence” is aimed at combatting nationalist prejudice and Antisemitism in Poland by stressing and making public the contributions of the Jewish community to the past and present of the country.
This Action Project sought to achieve this through the organization of a series of events dealing with contemporary Polish Jewish culture in Wroclaw and Warsaw, including, for example, exhibitions, concerts and lectures in public spaces as well as Holocaust and anti-discrimination education in local schools and NGOs in Wroclaw.
The project aimed at combatting nationalist prejudice and successfully contributed to the increase in the visibility of Jews in Poland.
The project successfully contributed to the increase of visibility of Jews in Wroclaw and strengthened the Polish Humanity in Action network as members of Cukunft Jewish Association were asked to design a city game around Jewish Wroclaw, participate in oral history project about contemporary female Jewish leaders, and share best practices on combating antisemitism and preserving Jewish memory as part of Humanity in Actions Poland’s project.
