Ellen Selroos (she/her) is studying a bachelor’s in political science at Uppsala University in Sweden. She is currently in Copenhagen at the Humanity in Action office as part of her final semester. Her academic interests revolve around the relationship between democracy and gender equality and how they shape political institutions and decision making. These subject matters were deepened in her bachelor’s thesis on Nordic right-wing parties’ exploitation of gender equality as a maneuver to justify anti-immigration agendas. Besides volunteering in the marketing department at her student association, Ellen also spent an exchange semester abroad at LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome studying political science and international relations.
